How to Connect Google Ads to Perplexity with MCP
PaidSync.ai lets you connect Google Ads to Perplexity in under 5 minutes using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, Perplexity can pull your campaign reports, pause underperforming keywords, adjust budgets, run full account audits, and create new campaigns from a single conversation.
No Zapier, no spreadsheets, no browser extensions. Perplexity goes from a research tool that reads the web to an agent that actually runs your ad account.
What You Need Before You Start
Three things. Most people already have the first two.
- A Google Ads account with at least one campaign, or an empty account you want to build in
- A Perplexity Pro subscription. MCP connectors are available on paid Perplexity plans. The free tier does not support custom connectors
- A PaidSync.ai account, free to create. $0 to start, 15 tool calls included every month
5 Steps to Connect Google Ads to Perplexity
The entire setup takes under 5 minutes. No coding, no downloads.
Sign up for PaidSync.ai
Go to paidsync.ai/signup and create your account with Google or email. You land on the free plan automatically. No credit card needed.
Copy your MCP server URL
After signing in, your PaidSync dashboard shows a unique MCP server URL that includes your personal API key. This URL is your bridge between Perplexity and your ad accounts. Copy it to your clipboard.
Add the URL to Perplexity as an MCP connector
Open Perplexity, go to Settings > Connectors, and choose to add a custom MCP server. Paste your PaidSync MCP server URL and give the connector a name like "PaidSync". Perplexity will confirm the connection in a few seconds and list PaidSync as an active tool.
Connect your Google Ads account via OAuth
Back in the PaidSync dashboard, click Connect Google Ads. Sign in with the Google account that owns your ads and authorize PaidSync using Google's standard OAuth flow. Your credentials are never shared with Perplexity and never stored by PaidSync. Tokens are encrypted at rest.
Start managing your ads with Perplexity
Open a new Perplexity conversation. Make sure the PaidSync connector is enabled for that thread. Ask "Show me all my active Google Ads campaigns". Perplexity will use PaidSync to pull live data from your account. From here, you have full two-way control.
PaidSync runs scored account audits across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and GTM. 240+ tools. Free to start.

PaidSync.ai gives Perplexity access to more than 240 advertising tools across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, GTM, and GA4. Here are prompts that work the moment setup finishes.
Why Perplexity Plus PaidSync Works So Well
Perplexity is already the research tool a lot of marketers use to investigate competitors, benchmarks, and best practices. PaidSync turns that same Perplexity session into a place where you can act on what you just researched.
You can ask Perplexity "what is a good CTR for home services on Google Search" and in the next message say "now check my Home Services campaign against that benchmark and list the underperformers". Research and action in one thread.
That combination matters. Most AI ad tools force you to leave your AI tool of choice and log into yet another dashboard. PaidSync keeps Perplexity as the interface and Google Ads as the backend.
Perplexity With MCP vs Perplexity Without
Perplexity on its own is powerful at reading public content. With a PaidSync MCP connector attached, Perplexity gets a second set of hands that can read private account data and actually make changes. The difference is big.
What PaidSync Tools Perplexity Uses
Every prompt above maps to one or more PaidSync tools that run against the Google Ads API. Here are the most common ones Perplexity calls in day-to-day use.
run_account_audit
Full account health check across campaigns, keywords, search terms, quality scores, and budgets in a single call.
get_wasted_spend_report
Finds money going to non-converting keywords. Shows cost, clicks, and conversion data for keywords that never converted.
get_search_terms_report
Surfaces irrelevant queries triggering your ads, with spend per query so you know which negatives to prioritize.
pause_keyword / add_negative_keywords
Lets Perplexity act on audit findings directly, pausing losers and adding negatives after your confirmation.
create_search_campaign / update_campaign_budget
Builds new Search, Display, Shopping, or PMax campaigns and adjusts budgets without leaving the Perplexity thread.
How Your Data Stays Private
Perplexity never sees your Google Ads login. OAuth runs between Google and PaidSync. Perplexity only sees the results of the specific tool calls it makes, not your refresh tokens or account credentials.
PaidSync encrypts all platform tokens at rest with AES-256-GCM. Each user has their own scoped MCP URL, so no one else can reach your account. You can revoke access at any time from the PaidSync dashboard or directly in your Google Ads account settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Perplexity support MCP connectors?
Yes. Perplexity supports Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors on paid plans. Add a PaidSync MCP server URL in Settings and then Connectors, and Perplexity can call any of 240 plus advertising tools against your connected Google Ads account.
Do I need Perplexity Pro to connect Google Ads?
MCP connectors are available on Perplexity paid plans. The free Perplexity plan does not include connector support, so you need Perplexity Pro or higher to use PaidSync inside Perplexity.
Can Perplexity change things in my Google Ads account, or only read data?
Both. PaidSync gives Perplexity full read and write access to Google Ads. It can pause campaigns, add negative keywords, adjust bids, change budgets, create new campaigns, and more. Perplexity always shows you what it plans to change and waits for your confirmation before executing.
Is my Google Ads login shared with Perplexity?
No. Your Google Ads credentials are never shared with Perplexity and never stored by PaidSync. Authorization happens through Google's standard OAuth flow. Tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and only PaidSync uses them to talk to the Google Ads API on your behalf.
Will this work with Meta Ads and LinkedIn Ads too?
Yes. The same PaidSync MCP connector gives Perplexity access to Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Tag Manager, and GA4. Connect each platform once in the PaidSync dashboard and Perplexity can work across all of them in the same conversation.
How is this different from asking Perplexity to search the web about my ads?
Perplexity's web search can only read public content. With the PaidSync MCP connector, Perplexity reads your private Google Ads data directly through the official API and can make changes in your account. It is the difference between reading articles about PPC and actually running your PPC.
