To set campaign conversion goals in Google Ads with Claude or ChatGPT, connect your Google Ads account to PaidSync.ai and ask the assistant to set which conversion goals a campaign optimizes for, which decides what Smart Bidding counts as success. A goal marked biddable is primary. A goal that is not biddable is secondary and only observed.
Each campaign can bid on some conversion goals and only watch others. Claude reads the setup, then changes it:
list_conversion_goals lists conversion goals at campaign and customer level, showing what each campaign optimizes for.update_campaign_conversion_goal sets whether a goal category and origin is biddable for a campaign. Biddable means primary, and not biddable means secondary.update_conversion_action renames, recategorizes or changes the status of a conversion action.list_conversion_goals only reads your account. update_campaign_conversion_goal and update_conversion_action change it.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| list_conversion_goals | Shows what each campaign bids on |
| update_campaign_conversion_goal | Writes the goal setting |
| update_conversion_action | Fixes a mislabelled conversion action |
Be careful about what you make primary. If a low-value action, such as a page view, is biddable, Smart Bidding chases it. Keep primary goals to the actions that matter for revenue, and leave others as secondary.
These steps use Claude to set campaign conversion goals. PaidSync.ai also works in ChatGPT, and the prompts are the same.
Register at paidsync.ai and connect Google Ads with Google's own sign-in screen. It needs no developer token and no Google Cloud project. Pick the Google login that manages the account you will set campaign conversion goals in.
Install PaidSync.ai from Claude's connector directory and sign in. Ask "list my Google Ads accounts" and select the account to set campaign conversion goals in.
Ask for the conversion goals for the campaign and see which are biddable.
Choose the categories that should be primary, and the ones to observe only.
Ask it to run update_campaign_conversion_goal for each change. Approve the previews and list the goals again.
List the goals again and check the biddable flags. Watch the conversions column, because a change in goals changes what is counted.
Use these two prompts to set campaign conversion goals, in this order.
