To compare campaign performance in Google Ads with Claude or ChatGPT, connect your Google Ads account to PaidSync.ai and ask the assistant to run the campaign performance report, which lists every campaign sorted by spend. You see impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, cost, conversions, budget and status for each campaign. The report only reads.
Comparing campaigns shows where the money goes and what it returns. Claude reads the whole account in one call and can then drill into one campaign:
get_campaign_performance returns every campaign sorted by spend, with impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, cost, conversions, budget and status.get_campaign_details returns one campaign's configuration and a current metrics snapshot.get_performance_summary returns account-level totals for a date range, including ROAS.get_campaign_performance, get_campaign_details and get_performance_summary only read your account.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| get_campaign_performance | Returns all campaigns in one ranked table |
| get_campaign_details | Gives the settings behind a single row |
| get_performance_summary | Gives the account totals to compare against |
A fair comparison needs the same window for each campaign. Use a window long enough to include every campaign's conversion lag, and ask for the account total as well, so each campaign's share of spend is clear.
These steps use Claude to compare campaign performance. PaidSync.ai also works in ChatGPT, and the prompts are the same.
Create a free account at paidsync.ai and approve Google Ads on Google's own sign-in screen. You do not need a developer token or a Google Cloud project, only a login with access to the account where you will compare campaign performance.
Add PaidSync.ai from Claude's connector directory and sign in. Ask "list my Google Ads accounts" and choose the one to compare campaign performance in.
Ask for the performance summary for the last 30 days. This is the baseline every campaign is measured against.
Ask for the campaign report for the same dates. The assistant returns each campaign ranked by spend.
Ask which campaigns spend a large share of budget for few conversions, and which ones convert well on little spend.
Repeat the report for the previous period and look at the change per campaign. A campaign whose spend rose while its conversions fell is the first to review.
Use these two prompts to compare campaign performance, in this order.
get_campaign_performance, get_campaign_details and get_performance_summary only read the account, so nothing here edits a campaign.get_campaign_performance, get_campaign_details and get_performance_summary work with a key that cannot change anything. Tokens are encrypted at rest.Every Google Ads tool PaidSync.ai offers is on the Google Ads MCP server page, including the tools used to compare campaign performance.
