To find disapproved keywords in Google Ads with Claude or ChatGPT, connect your Google Ads account to PaidSync.ai and ask the assistant to list the keywords that are not approved, which shows each keyword that cannot serve and why. A disapproved keyword serves nothing. The check only reads and returns up to 200 keywords by default.
Keywords can be disapproved or limited by policy, and the report does not shout about it. Claude checks them in one read:
get_keyword_policy_issues returns keywords whose approval status is not approved, with the policy topics, filterable by campaign or ad group.list_keywords lists keywords with match type, bids and quality score for the detail around a flagged keyword.get_keyword_policy_issues and list_keywords only read your account.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| get_keyword_policy_issues | Lists keywords with policy problems |
| list_keywords | Gives the settings of a flagged keyword |
Decide whether to fix or drop each one. A keyword that touches a restricted topic may never be approved, so removing it and bidding on a cleaner variant is often faster than waiting.
These steps use Claude to find disapproved keywords. PaidSync.ai also works in ChatGPT, and the prompts are the same.
Sign up at paidsync.ai, then connect Google Ads on Google's own sign-in screen. There is no developer token and no Google Cloud project. Use the Google login that has access to the account where you want to find disapproved keywords.
Install PaidSync.ai from Claude's connector directory and sign in. Ask "list my Google Ads accounts" and select the account to find disapproved keywords in.
Ask for keywords that are not approved, across the account or for one campaign.
Ask the assistant to group the results by policy topic so you can see whether one theme is behind most of them.
Pause or remove the ones that cannot be approved, and replace them with compliant wording.
Run the check again a few days later. The list should shrink, and the keywords you replaced should be serving.
Use these two prompts to find disapproved keywords, in this order.
