To set device bid adjustments in Google Ads with Claude or ChatGPT, connect your Google Ads account to PaidSync.ai and ask the assistant to set a bid adjustment for mobile, desktop or tablet, which raises or lowers your bids on that device. A modifier of 1.0 changes nothing, 1.5 is plus 50 percent and 0.5 is minus 50 percent. PaidSync.ai previews each adjustment.
Device bid adjustments change how much you bid for people on phones, computers or tablets. Claude reads performance by campaign, then sets the adjustment:
get_campaign_performance returns campaign results sorted by spend, so you can see which campaign is worth adjusting.set_device_bid_adjustment sets bid modifiers for MOBILE, DESKTOP and TABLET on a campaign. The valid range is 0, or 0.1 to 10.get_campaign_performance only reads your account. set_device_bid_adjustment changes it.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| get_campaign_performance | Shows which campaigns spend and convert |
| set_device_bid_adjustment | Writes the modifier for each device |
A modifier of 0 excludes the device completely, which is a hard stop, not a low bid. Use 0.1 or above if you only want to bid less. A value such as minus 0.5 is invalid, so write 0.5 for a 50 percent cut.
These steps use Claude to set device bid adjustments. PaidSync.ai also works in ChatGPT, and the prompts are the same.
Start at paidsync.ai, then link Google Ads through Google's own sign-in screen. No developer token and no Google Cloud project are involved. The login you choose must reach the account where you will set device bid adjustments.
Add PaidSync.ai from Claude's connector directory and sign in. Ask "list my Google Ads accounts" and choose the one to set device bid adjustments in.
Ask for campaign performance for the last 30 days so you have a baseline before changing any bids.
Decide the change for each device, such as 1.2 for mobile and 0.8 for tablet, and tell the assistant.
Ask it to run set_device_bid_adjustment. Read the preview, approve it, then ask for the campaign settings to see the modifiers.
Compare cost per conversion by device after a week. If a device converts well at a cut bid, raise it back gradually rather than all at once.
Use these two prompts to set device bid adjustments, in this order.
get_campaign_performance only reads your account, so the lookup before you set device bid adjustments changes nothing.set_device_bid_adjustment runs as a preview by default, so you see the change before it is applied.set_device_bid_adjustment runs.set_device_bid_adjustment can show a preview but not apply it.
