To duplicate a campaign in Google Ads with Claude or ChatGPT, connect your Google Ads account to PaidSync.ai and ask the assistant to duplicate a campaign under a new name, which creates a new paused campaign with the same budget and bidding. The copy does not include ad groups, keywords or ads. It starts paused, so nothing spends until you enable it.
Duplicating copies a campaign's settings so you can start a variant quickly. Claude reads the source, then makes the copy:
get_campaign_details returns the source campaign's settings, so you know what will be copied.duplicate_campaign copies a campaign's budget, bidding and channel type into a new paused campaign. It does not copy ad groups, keywords or ads.copy_ad_group copies an ad group into an existing campaign, for the parts duplicate_campaign leaves behind.get_campaign_details only reads your account. duplicate_campaign and copy_ad_group change it.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| get_campaign_details | Shows the settings you are copying |
| duplicate_campaign | Creates the new paused campaign |
| copy_ad_group | Brings an ad group across to the new campaign |
Read the limit carefully. You get the campaign shell, not its contents. To bring ad groups over you copy them one at a time with the ad group copy tool. That is slower, but each copy is checked before it is sent.
These steps use Claude to duplicate a campaign. PaidSync.ai also works in ChatGPT, and the prompts are the same.
Register at paidsync.ai and connect Google Ads with Google's own sign-in screen. It needs no developer token and no Google Cloud project. Pick the Google login that manages the account you will duplicate a campaign in.
Install PaidSync.ai from Claude's connector directory and sign in. Ask "list my Google Ads accounts" and select the account to duplicate a campaign in.
Ask for the details of the campaign you want to copy, including its budget and bidding strategy.
Give the new campaign a name and ask the assistant to run duplicate_campaign. It returns a preview, and the copy is created paused.
Copy the ad groups you need into the new campaign, or build fresh ones, then review everything before you enable it.
Ask for the new campaign details and check it is paused, with the same budget and bidding as the source. Enable it only when its ad groups and ads are in place.
