To review your triggers in Google Tag Manager with Claude or ChatGPT, connect your Google Tag Manager account to PaidSync.ai and ask the assistant to list the triggers in my workspace, which shows when your tags can fire. It reads only.
A trigger decides when a tag fires. Two read tools list and open them:
list_gtm_triggers lists every trigger in a workspace.get_gtm_trigger shows one trigger with its type and conditions.list_gtm_tags shows which tags exist so you can match them to triggers.list_gtm_triggers, get_gtm_trigger and list_gtm_tags only read your account. That is the full set you need to review your triggers.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| list_gtm_triggers | Lists the triggers |
| get_gtm_trigger | Opens one trigger |
| list_gtm_tags | Lists the tags to match |
A trigger that no tag uses can usually be deleted. A tag that fires on All Pages when it should not is a more common problem.
These steps use Claude to review your triggers. PaidSync.ai also works in ChatGPT, and the prompts are the same.

Ask for every trigger in the workspace.
Ask which tags use each trigger.
Read the conditions of any trigger that looks too broad.
Each trigger should be used by at least one tag, or have a reason to exist.
Use these two prompts to review your triggers, in this order.
list_gtm_triggers, get_gtm_trigger and list_gtm_tags only read Google Tag Manager, so nothing you do to review your triggers edits your setup.Every Google Tag Manager tool PaidSync.ai offers is listed on the Google Tag Manager MCP server tools page, including the tools used to review your triggers.
In Tag Manager, open Triggers in the workspace. With PaidSync.ai you ask Claude or ChatGPT which triggers are unused.
It rarely does, but clutter makes mistakes more likely. Remove the ones you are sure about.
Yes. PaidSync.ai connects Google Tag Manager to ChatGPT and to Claude, and the same tools run in both, so you can ask it to review your triggers the same way you would in Claude.
