To write responsive search ads in Google Ads with Claude or ChatGPT, connect your Google Ads account to PaidSync.ai and ask the assistant to create a responsive search ad in an ad group, which Google mixes and matches from the headlines and descriptions you supply. You supply between 3 and 15 headlines and 2 to 4 descriptions. The ad is created paused by default, so it does not serve until you review it.
A responsive search ad is a set of headlines and descriptions that Google combines for each search. Claude can draft the copy in the chat and then create the ad in one call:
list_ad_groups returns the ad groups in a campaign, so you pick the ad group ID the ad goes into.create_responsive_search_ad creates a responsive search ad with 3 to 15 headlines of up to 30 characters and 2 to 4 descriptions of up to 90 characters, plus a landing page.list_ad_groups only reads your account. create_responsive_search_ad changes it.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| list_ad_groups | Lists ad groups so you can choose where the ad goes |
| create_responsive_search_ad | Creates the ad, paused by default |
Length limits are strict. Headlines are capped at 30 characters and descriptions at 90, so ask the assistant to count before it submits. You can pin a headline to position 1, 2 or 3, but pinning reduces the combinations Google can test.
These steps use Claude to write responsive search ads. PaidSync.ai also works in ChatGPT, and the prompts are the same.
Start at paidsync.ai, then link Google Ads through Google's own sign-in screen. No developer token and no Google Cloud project are involved. The login you choose must reach the account where you will write responsive search ads.
Open Claude's connector directory, add PaidSync.ai and sign in. Ask "list my Google Ads accounts", then pick the account where you will write responsive search ads.
Ask for the ad groups in your campaign and pick the one this ad belongs to. Share the landing page URL.
Ask the assistant for 10 headlines and 3 descriptions based on your offer and keywords, and have it check every length against the limits.
Approve the copy and ask it to call create_responsive_search_ad. It returns a preview, and the ad is created paused unless you pass enabled.
Open the ad list for the ad group and check the status is paused and the headlines read correctly. Enable the ad only after you have reviewed the combinations.
