How to connect ChatGPT Ads to Gemini with PaidSync

This is the route through Gemini's connector directory. No PaidSync API key is needed, because Gemini connects with a PaidSync sign-in (OAuth).

Before you start

Pick your Gemini surface in step 1. The Gemini app takes PaidSync as a custom app on a personal Google Account (18 or older, in the US, in English, with Keep Activity on). Gemini CLI, Antigravity and Gemini Enterprise cover work accounts and terminals.
Signing in with Google? There is no separate sign-up. You pick Continue with Google in step 2, and your free PaidSync account (15 tasks a month, no credit card) is created when you press Approve.
Prefer an email and password? Create the account at paidsync.ai/signup first. The sign-up link inside the sign-in window opens the website and does not bring you back to Gemini.
Have your OpenAI Ads API key ready. Create it in the Settings of your ad account in ChatGPT Ads Manager at ads.openai.com. You use it in step 3.

Add PaidSync to Gemini

Gemini app, personal account. Open gemini.google.com, go to Settings, then Connected Apps (if you do not see it, open Personal Intelligence first), and under Custom apps choose Add a custom app. Paste the PaidSync server URL and click Next. PaidSync registers itself, so there is no API key to copy and nothing to fill in under Advanced features.

Add it on the web once and it works in the Gemini mobile app too. Google limits custom apps to personal Google accounts, age 18 and over, in the US, in English, with Keep Activity turned on. A work or school account cannot add them, so use Gemini Enterprise below instead.

Gemini Enterprise, Business edition. A team admin adds PaidSync under Settings and help, then Manage team, then Connected apps, then Add MCP Server. PaidSync serves the Streamable HTTP transport Gemini requires and OAuth 2.0 at https://api.paidsync.ai/authorize and https://api.paidsync.ai/token. Sign in to PaidSync and press Approve

The PaidSync sign-in screen opens. Pick Continue with Google, or sign in with your PaidSync email and password. A PaidSync screen then asks whether to allow Gemini to manage your ad accounts via PaidSync. Press Approve and PaidSync is connected.

New to PaidSync and signing in with Google? Your free account (15 tasks a month, no credit card) is created when you press Approve. The screen also mentions ad accounts already connected inside PaidSync. On a new account that list is empty until you finish step 3.

Connect your ChatGPT Ads account and ask Gemini

In any chat, ask: "Connect my ChatGPT Ads." Gemini replies with a link to your PaidSync dashboard, because the API key is entered there securely and never in chat. Sign in with the OpenAI account that can open your ad account in ChatGPT Ads Manager at ads.openai.com, create the key in that ad account's Settings, paste it on the dashboard and save. Each key connects exactly one ad account, and keys from platform.openai.com are refused. PaidSync encrypts the key at rest.

Come back and ask: "List my ChatGPT Ads accounts." Gemini uses list_openai_accounts to show them and set_active_openai_account to pick the one you name. Connecting and listing accounts uses none of your tasks. Then try: "Show my ChatGPT Ads campaign performance for the last 7 days."

Troubleshooting ChatGPT Ads in Gemini

The sign-in fails. Sign in to PaidSync the way you signed up, with Continue with Google or with your PaidSync email and password. Email users without an account create one at paidsync.ai/signup first, then add PaidSync in Gemini again.
The key is refused. Create the key in the Settings of your ad account in ChatGPT Ads Manager at ads.openai.com. Keys from platform.openai.com are refused for ads. If PaidSync later reports that the key was rejected, issue a new key there and connect again.
Gemini used the wrong account. Each key connects exactly one ad account. Ask Gemini to list your ChatGPT Ads accounts and switch to the one you mean. It runs list_openai_accounts, then set_active_openai_account. To add another account, create a key in that account and connect again.
Gemini says it has no ChatGPT Ads tool. PaidSync shows Gemini a short starter list of tools to keep the chat light. Ask Gemini to call paidsync_context first. It returns your connected platforms and the full tool list, ChatGPT Ads included, and Gemini then runs those tools through paidsync_exec.
