PaidSync connects ChatGPT Ads to Perplexity via MCP. Perplexity gets 28 tools to read your OpenAI Ads performance and to build and manage campaigns, ad groups and ads. Ask plain-English questions. Get real ChatGPT Ads data back.
Setup time: 2 minutes. Free plan available. No credit card required.
This is the route through Perplexity's connector directory. No PaidSync API key is needed, because Perplexity connects with a PaidSync sign-in (OAuth).
Before you start
In Perplexity open Plugins in the sidebar (or Customize, then Connectors), choose Add custom, then Connector, then Add MCP connector, and select Remote. Name it PaidSync and paste the server URL:
https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcpSet authentication to OAuth 2.0 and transport to Streamable HTTP. PaidSync supports dynamic client registration, so the Client ID and Client Secret fields stay empty. Tick the acknowledgement, click Add, then click the PaidSync connector card and sign in with your PaidSync login. A custom connector needs a Perplexity plan that includes them, and on an Enterprise organization an admin must allow members to add custom connectors first.
The PaidSync sign-in screen opens. Pick Continue with Google, or sign in with your PaidSync email and password. A PaidSync screen then asks whether to allow Perplexity to manage your ad accounts via PaidSync. Press Approve and PaidSync is connected.
New to PaidSync and signing in with Google? Your free account (15 tasks a month, no credit card) is created when you press Approve. The screen also mentions ad accounts already connected inside PaidSync. On a new account that list is empty until you finish step 3.
In any chat, ask: "Connect my ChatGPT Ads." Perplexity replies with a link to your PaidSync dashboard, because the API key is entered there securely and never in chat. Sign in with the OpenAI account that can open your ad account in ChatGPT Ads Manager at ads.openai.com, create the key in that ad account's Settings, paste it on the dashboard and save. Each key connects exactly one ad account, and keys from platform.openai.com are refused. PaidSync encrypts the key at rest.
Come back and ask: "List my ChatGPT Ads accounts." Perplexity uses list_openai_accounts to show them and set_active_openai_account to pick the one you name. Connecting and listing accounts uses none of your tasks. Then try: "Show my ChatGPT Ads campaign performance for the last 7 days."
get_openai_performance.Perplexity can read the whole account and also change it. Check each change before you tell Perplexity to apply it, and archiving is permanent. New ad groups start paused, so nothing new serves until you enable it. PaidSync does not manage video creative, audiences or billing for ChatGPT Ads.
Each prompt runs on the PaidSync tools named after it and uses one or more of your tasks. Prompts 5 to 7 make a change in your account.
list_openai_campaigns and get_openai_performance.list_openai_adgroups.list_openai_ads.get_openai_performance and the Meta Ads performance tool through the same PaidSync connection.pause_openai_adgroup. A pause needs an explicit confirm, and enable_openai_adgroup turns it back on.create_openai_campaign, which previews as a dry run first. The change applies only after you confirm.archive_openai_campaign. Archiving is permanent, so it says so before it runs and needs an explicit confirm.Build and manage in one place. PaidSync has 28 ChatGPT Ads tools that read, build and manage. Creates and updates preview as a dry run, and destructive changes need an explicit confirm.
Cross-platform reasoning. The same PaidSync connection covers Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, Pinterest, Microsoft Ads, GA4, Google Tag Manager and Merchant Center. Perplexity can compare ChatGPT Ads spend with Meta and Google, check the result in GA4 and propose the next move in one thread.
list_openai_accounts, then set_active_openai_account. To add another account, create a key in that account and connect again.paidsync_context first. It returns your connected platforms and the full tool list, ChatGPT Ads included, and Perplexity then runs those tools through paidsync_exec. If PaidSync is missing from Perplexity altogether, check that its connector card is enabled under Plugins. In Perplexity open Plugins, choose Add custom, then Connector, then Add MCP connector, select Remote and paste https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcp with OAuth 2.0 and Streamable HTTP. Click the PaidSync connector card, sign in to PaidSync and press Approve, then ask Perplexity to connect your ChatGPT Ads account. No API key is needed. Full steps are above.
Perplexity can list your campaigns, ad groups and ads and read performance such as spend, clicks and impressions for a date range you choose, through the OpenAI Ads Advertiser API.
Yes. ChatGPT Ads is a build tier platform in PaidSync. Perplexity can create a campaign, its ad groups and chat card ads, upload creative images, and pause, enable, update or archive what runs. Creates and updates preview as a dry run first, and pauses, enables and archives need an explicit confirm.
Create it in the Settings of your ad account in ChatGPT Ads Manager at ads.openai.com. Each key connects exactly one ad account, so connect one key per account. Keys from platform.openai.com are refused for ads.
The key is entered on the PaidSync dashboard, not in chat. It is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and disconnecting deletes it.
Yes. The free plan gives 15 tasks per month at $0 with no credit card. Pro starts at $99 a month and Team at $249 a month.
PaidSync has its own pricing: the free plan is $0 for 15 tasks a month with no card, and Pro starts at $99 a month. Whether your Perplexity plan can add a custom connector depends on Perplexity, and an Enterprise admin must allow it first.
Yes. PaidSync is one endpoint, https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcp, with OAuth sign-in, and the same login works in Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot through Copilot Studio, Cursor and Windsurf. Set up PaidSync once and use it from any of them.
