$1B+ ad revenue generated. $500M+ managed. Google Premier Partner (top 3%). 460+ MCP tools

Four ways to let AI execute in live ad accounts, not just recommendations. Smartly Synapse runs agents inside the Smartly platform. Skai's MCP connects ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor to Skai with preview and approval. Synter reaches 27 platforms for a 3% fee on spend. PaidSync is one endpoint, https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcp, OAuth 2.0 sign-in, 460+ tools across 14 platforms, every write approval-gated with one-tap undo. Enterprise buyers should know up front that PaidSync has no SOC 2 today, with SSO and DPA on request.

This page is for a team that already spends seven figures a year across Google, Meta, LinkedIn and a few more, uses ChatGPT or Claude every day, and wants the AI to move budgets rather than write memos about them. Every competitor cell below was read from the vendor's own site on September 2, 2026, or marked not published. The PaidSync cells come from the code as it stood on the same day.

Smartly Synapse, where it wins

Smartly is the one platform on this page that owns creative production, media buying and measurement under one roof. Synapse is its orchestration layer. Planning Agents combine cross-channel intelligence and incrementality signals, a Campaign Assembly Agent turns a brief into a real launch, and Optimization Agents move budgets and rotate creative variants. Smartly bought INCRMNTAL, so the incrementality read is native rather than bolted on.

If your team already lives in Smartly for creative at scale on Meta, TikTok and Pinterest, Synapse is the lowest-friction way to add agents. Nothing new to connect.

Where it does not fit a team that runs its own AI tools: Smartly publishes no MCP server and no connection for ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor. The agents are Smartly's agents, inside Smartly's interface. Pricing is not published on smartly.io. Third-party reviews describe a percentage of managed spend with a monthly minimum (AdStellar, read September 2, 2026), which you should confirm on the order form. Undo and SSO are not published either. Smartly is ISO 27001 certified and states that GDPR compliant Data Processing Agreements are in place.

Skai, where it wins

Skai has the most complete enterprise paper on this page and, unusually for an incumbent, a real MCP. The MCP guide lists ChatGPT, Claude web and desktop, Claude Code, Google Gemini, Cursor and VS Code, and Amazon Quick. The Reporting MCP answers questions and reads change logs. The Operations MCP adjusts bids, budgets and statuses "with preview and approval before anything is applied." That is the same preview-and-approve shape PaidSync uses, so if your buying already runs through Skai, you can keep your AI client and get a governed write path today.

On compliance, Skai publishes a SOC 2 Type 2 report, ISO 27001:2022, ISO 9001:2015 and SAML 2.0 single sign-on. Pricing is published as annual tiers by spend, starting at $114k a year for up to $4M in spend.

Where it does not fit: the floor. $114k a year is the entry ticket, and the MCP is a feature of a Skai contract rather than a product you can buy alone. OAuth is available for ChatGPT and Claude; other clients use a personal access token that renews every 90 days. Undo is not published, and the Operations MCP guide does not list which channels its writes cover. Skai's strongest ground is retail and commerce media, which is a different centre of gravity from a Google, Meta and LinkedIn account.

Synter, where it wins

Synter's argument is breadth. 27 live platforms, including DSPs and retail media, all reachable through MCP and API from Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT. Its governance page is specific in a way most vendors are not: auto-pilot or review-required modes, daily and campaign-level spend limits, an action log with actor, field, old and new values, rationale and metrics delta, and a rollback that restores the last 10 changes per entity. The DPA with EU Standard Contractual Clauses is published, and SAML or OIDC single sign-on comes with the Custom tier.

Where it does not fit: the fee. Synter charges a fixed 3% platform fee on managed spend on every plan, which is $90k a year at $3M of spend before the plan and the metered tasks at $0.25 to $5.00 each. SOC 2 Type II is listed as in progress, not complete. We compared the two products in more depth on PaidSync vs Synter.

PaidSync, where it wins

PaidSync is a single MCP endpoint, https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcp, with 460+ tools across 14 platforms. It builds campaigns on Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and OpenAI Ads. It pauses, enables and changes budgets and settings on TikTok, Microsoft, Snapchat, Reddit, Pinterest and X. It writes tags, events and feeds on GA4, Google Tag Manager and Merchant Center, and reads Search Console. One prompt can query all of them at once, which is the part that a per-platform official server cannot do.

The approval model is the product. Every write is held as an approval card before it runs. Creates default to a dry run preview. Deletes, removals, pauses and budget changes require confirm_destructive. A viewer can read and never act; an editor or above approves, and the approver is recorded. The inverse action is built at apply time so undo is one tap. Seven days after any applied change a scheduled check compares the outcome to the baseline and writes a rollback card if performance dropped by $50 or 20%. Spend ceilings come from the brand brief, divided into a daily limit, with actions above it queued and an alert at 85%. Platform tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.

Saved workflows (paidsync_workflows_save and paidsync_workflows_run) turn a repeated check into one call. Five ship as official: account-audit, find-waste, pause-zero-conv-keywords, weekend-underspend and negative-keyword-candidates. In the workspace, specialist agents such as ROAS Guardian, Wasted Spend Hunter, Budget Pacer, Creative Fatigue Watcher, GA4 Auditor and Merchant Center Auditor run scheduled checks and post proposals to the same approval cards. Pricing is flat and priced in tasks, from Free at $0 with 15 tasks to Team from $249 a month, with enterprise work scoped after a founder call. The founder is a Google Premier Partner with $500M+ of managed spend, and PaidSync is a Meta Business Partner, LinkedIn Marketing Partner and TikTok Marketing Partner.

Where it does not fit: the paperwork. No SOC 2. SSO and DPA on request rather than self-serve. The change log is readable in the product and through the get_operator_change_log tool, but there is no CSV, SIEM or webhook export yet. Self-serve data export is not built; account deletion is self-serve with a 30-day grace period. If those are hard gates, read the next section.

Building it in-house

The in-house column is real now in a way it was not a year ago. Google publishes an official Google Ads MCP server, strictly read-only with 3 tools, self-hosted (developers.google.com). GA4's official server is read-only and experimental (github.com/googleanalytics/google-analytics-mcp). Meta's server at mcp.facebook.com/ads reads and writes and has been in open beta since April 29, 2026, gated per ad account. TikTok has run an official Ads MCP since May 13, 2026 (developer docs). Microsoft Advertising runs a read-only open pilot since June 17, 2026 (about.ads.microsoft.com). LinkedIn, Google Tag Manager and Search Console had no official server when we checked in September 2026.

So an engineering team can wire five official servers into Claude or Cursor in an afternoon. What they get is five separate connections with five approval behaviours, two of which cannot write at all, no cross-platform query, no shared undo, and no audit trail beyond each client's chat history. The work is not the first week. It is owning fourteen OAuth apps, the approval UI, the audit store and every API version retirement after that. Build in-house when you already have that team, you need the trail inside your own systems, and the platforms you buy on are the ones with a first-party write server.

When PaidSync is the wrong choice

We would rather say this here than on a call.

Works alongside the official Meta and TikTok servers

Meta's mcp.facebook.com/ads opened its beta on April 29, 2026 for accounts where the platform has enabled it, US and higher-spend accounts first, and added developer-app connections and server rules on July 16, 2026. TikTok's official Ads MCP has been available since May 13, 2026 and gained an Ads Diagnosis Agent in August 2026. Both are good servers, and both belong in the same client configuration as PaidSync rather than instead of it.

The split that works: use the first-party server when you want the platform's own diagnosis or a feature it exposes first. Use PaidSync when the question spans platforms, when you want the approval card with undo and the 7-day outcome check on the write, or when the account is on one of the twelve platforms that do not have a first-party write server. Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor all accept several MCP servers at once, so nothing has to be chosen.

Which one should you choose

Choose Skai if SOC 2, SAML and a published price list are prerequisites and your buying already runs through Skai. Its MCP gives you ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor with preview and approval on bids, budgets and statuses.

Choose Smartly if creative production at scale is the job and your team wants the agents inside the same platform. Confirm the percentage-of-spend terms on the order form, since they are not published.

Choose Synter if you buy on more than 14 platforms and a 3% fee on spend is acceptable. Its governance page is the most specific of the four.

Choose PaidSync if you want to keep Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot Studio or Cursor, need writes on Google, Meta, LinkedIn and OpenAI Ads plus tracking on GA4 and GTM in one conversation, and can accept SSO and DPA on request while SOC 2 is not started. Flat pricing, approval cards with undo, and the founder on the call.

Build in-house if you already hold developer tokens for every platform you buy on and the trail must live in your own systems. Start from the five official servers and budget for the twelve months after.

Proof and reading

The dated first-party timeline is in the agentic advertising receipts. What teams run through PaidSync day to day is on use cases. The enterprise engagement, from a read-only pilot to approved execution, is on the enterprise page, and the agents themselves are on Ads Agents. Setup for every client starts at connect your ads.

Frequently asked questions

Is PaidSync SOC 2 certified?

No. PaidSync has not started a SOC 2 audit as of September 2026. Skai publishes a SOC 2 Type 2 report and ISO 27001 certification. Synter lists SOC 2 Type II as in progress. Smartly publishes ISO 27001 certification and does not mention SOC 2 on its security page. If a SOC 2 letter is a hard gate for your procurement, PaidSync is not the right choice today.

Does PaidSync offer SSO or a DPA?

Both are on request. There is no self-serve SSO toggle and no public DPA page. Skai supports SAML 2.0 single sign-on. Synter offers SAML and OIDC single sign-on on its Custom tier and publishes a DPA with EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Smartly states that GDPR compliant Data Processing Agreements are in place.

Can we keep ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor and still use one of these?

Yes for Skai, Synter and PaidSync. Skai's MCP guide lists ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Google Gemini, Cursor and VS Code. Synter lists Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT. PaidSync connects to Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini CLI and Gemini Enterprise, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot through Copilot Studio, and Cursor through one endpoint at https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcp with OAuth 2.0 sign-in. Smartly publishes no MCP or AI assistant connection for Synapse.

What does each option cost at about $3M a year in spend?

Skai publishes a Standard tier at $114k per year for up to $4M in spend. Synter charges a fixed 3% platform fee on managed spend, which is $90k a year at $3M, plus a $500 a month Scale plan and metered tasks. Smartly does not publish pricing; third-party reviews describe a percentage of managed spend with a monthly minimum. PaidSync sells flat plans priced in tasks, Free at $0 with 15 tasks, Pro from $99 a month, Team from $249 a month, and scopes enterprise work after a discovery call.

Does PaidSync work with Meta's and TikTok's official MCP servers?

Yes. Meta's server at mcp.facebook.com/ads has been in open beta since April 29, 2026 with per-account gating, and TikTok has run an official Ads MCP since May 13, 2026. Both sit in the same client configuration as PaidSync. PaidSync adds the cross-platform query, the approval card with undo, and the 12 other platforms in the same conversation.

What happens when the AI proposes a change in PaidSync?

The change is held as an approval card before it runs. Campaign creates default to a dry run preview. Deletes, removals, pauses and budget changes need confirm_destructive. An editor or above taps approve, the inverse action is built at apply time, and one-tap undo re-executes it where a safe inverse exists. Seven days later a cron checks the outcome and writes a rollback card if performance regressed by $50 or 20%. Campaign launches, deletes and account creation never run without a human tap.

When is building in-house the better call?

When you already have an engineering team holding developer tokens for every platform you buy on, you need the approval and audit trail inside your own systems, and you accept owning API version changes across 14 platforms. Google Ads, GA4, Meta, TikTok and Microsoft each publish an official MCP server you can build on, though Google's is read-only and Microsoft's is a read-only pilot. LinkedIn, Google Tag Manager and Search Console had no official server as of September 2026.

Which platforms can PaidSync create campaigns on?

PaidSync builds campaigns on Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and OpenAI Ads. It pauses, enables and changes budgets and settings on existing campaigns on TikTok, Microsoft, Snapchat, Reddit, Pinterest and X. It writes tracking and feed configuration on GA4, Google Tag Manager and Merchant Center. Search Console is read only. That is 460+ tools across 14 platforms as of September 2026.
